"Singing Sally" at Digital Delights

It's Delightful Thursday again at Digital Delights!!!

Hi everyone...Today is Thursday and I am still on the music theme with Digital Delights.  I decided to use "Singing Sally" today and colored her with my Copics...I used my Spellbinders to cut her out and mat her. I used my star dies and cut stars in 3 different sizes.  Colored them with Copics and then glued them together and added a gem to each one.  My sentiment is also from Digital Delights.
The designer papers are all from Hobby Lobby and I love the colors. I added the orange and gold polka dot ribbon to help bring out the gold in the stars.
On the inside it is again fairly simple. More stars and I used Spellbinders Mats for the personal message area.

"Just Be Yourself"

The Challenge this week at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog is "Anything Goes".  So I spent yesterday and today with Mz. Sally...  You see Sassy Cheryl has these new stamps that she is also adding sentiments to.  Well, they are all adorable and you know I have to have them all...The one in the middle is called "Just Be Yourself" so I got to thinking how cute it would be to showcase some of the faces of Mz. Sally - just being herself...However, when I tried to get it all down in a card I kept running out of space, lol...Then when I did decided on the size of my card, of course, I was so excited and adhered my layers and digis only to realize I had put them to the wrong side of the card.  Jeez....So I had to go with a side-opened card.
So, on to my card now...I matted all my images on Spellbinders mats and colored them with Copics. I forgot to add any shine to them so they are "glitter free"...lol  My hanging hearts and butterflies are from Memory Box Dies. My gems and ribbon are from my stash.
On the inside I added a wonderful little note holder from Marianne Designs. The sentiment for the note holder is from "A Piece of Heart" and reads - "Only someone special can make ordinary moments seem extraordinary". Corner Dies are from Whimsy Stamps and I added a few more small pics of Mz. Sassy!

"Happy Birthday" to Kim Bell

Today is a very special day for a very special friend....It is Kim Bell's Birthday....Of course, I will not tell you how old she is today, let me just say I am still older!!!lol  So this is my card for Kim! And it is in the mail to her.

You see, Kim has such a time with "monochromatic" cards - so I decided I would make her one and she will have it forever.  And you see, Kim also has a time with CAS cards also, so we have another friend, Candy, also know as the "Purple Card Lady" who has made a wonderful CAS card for Kim to cherish  forever! And to remember us by...lol

The image I used is from Beccy's Cards and is called "Little Spray of Flowers". This was a "freebie" of Beccy's and she has wonderful freebies for you to try. I have been a follower of her wonderful work for a long time.  I basically shaded my image on the designer paper. I used white acrylic paint for the white dots. Then cut and matted my image on a Spellbinders Die. I then layered it on creme colored cardstock and used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in "Tea Dye" to distress around the image. My corners are dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.  Everything else is from my stash.
You may not know Kim, but her work is always beautiful. Her blog is "Scraps of Faith" and you can find it here!  I was a little uneasy about making a card for Kim since her work is just so stunning. You will see what I mean by going to her blog and taking a look at all of her creations.  Kim is always ready to help her fellow crafters and I have had to call on her many, many times.  So, Happy Birthday to you my friend, lol, and I hope you have many, many more....

I am going to enter my card in the following Challenges:
I have a few projects in the stew so I should have something new to post during the weekend. If you have not done so be sure to sign in for my candy giveaway...Thanks so much for stopping by and please go and wish Kim a wonderful Birthday.

"Keep On Rocking" at Digital Delights

It's Delightful Thursday again at Digital Delights!!!

And as I said in last week's post "It's All About The Music"....So my little friend "Drummer Darian is still rocking...

Actually, my youngest son asked me to make a birthday card for one of his friends. I first colored Darian in all bright pinks and greens, but he said it looked to girly...lol  So, after talking to a friend of mine, Kim, about different colors, I decided to go with the grays. And ended up with basically a monochromatic card.  My corners are metal frame corners and I again used my musical dies.  My designer paper is from the "Noteable Music Digital Papers" from Digital Delights.  I added some silver dots as the last step to my card.
Here's a look at the inside where I used more of the digital designer papers and the die cuts.  I really love this wonderful designer paper pack.

"Monday Hostess" at Digital Delights

Hi Everyone!!!  Today I am honored to be the "Monday Hostess" over at Digital Delights. My theme is to
show you basically how adding die-cuts to your cards really make them "pop"...

While I was working on this card my neighbor stopped by and was thrilled with it asking if she might be able to purchase it.  She did have one request and that was if I might be able to make it a little more whimsy....So
this is what I came up with.  I colored the image "Dilly in the Rain" from Digital Delights with Copics and then cut it out and matted on Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle and Scalloped Circle dies.  I also use some Spellbinders Dies to mat the sentiment which is also from Digital Delights.

I then used my umbrella die and cloud die which are both Memory Box Dies. The corner dies are from Whimsy Shapeology Collection and after cutting the corner dies I used the leftovers as my rain. They look just like teardrops or raindrops.
On the inside of my card I went further with the die-cuts and whimsy look. I added the personal message area along with the matted circle and scallop circle dies again.
After I finished my card I called my neighbor over and just gave it to her.   She was thrilled!  Be sure to head over to Digital Delights to see all the New Releases and take advantage of this wonderful Sale!

"Patience Secret Girl"

Ohhhh, it's a "Sketch" this week over at Sassy Cheryl's!!!  Now, I am not good at sketches only because I always seem to stray away from them...But this time I think I stayed right with it!  Look at those cute little birds, my goodness, did I have a great time coloring them up....This whole set is, of course, from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps and is called "Patience Secret Girl" and has the sweet (sometimes) Sally, the little birdies, flowers and the secret phrase which reads - "Adopt the pace of nature, For her secret is patience."
I colored my images with Copic's and my designer papers are from a wonderful paper pack called "Journeys" by "Kathy Davis".  I matted my images using Spellbinders Dies and I also decided to use faux stitching on my card.  I finished it off by adding some light green gems to make it a little more sassy...
On the inside I took the sketch again and split it up between each half of the card. I just could not help myself and had to use those little birdies again.  They are just signature "Sassy Cheryl"...
I am entering my card in the following Challenges:
I know everyone is so glad the weekend is here and I hope it's a good one...My son's gave me a Silhouette Cameo Machine for Christmas last year and I have still not unwrapped all the packing material on it. On Monday, I will be the Hostess over at Digital Delights so be sure to check back and see what I have designed for this special treat.  Also, remember to tell your crafting friends - I have "Candy" on my blog!!!

Delightful Thursday "All About Music"

It's Delightful Thursday again at Digital Delights!!!

It's a new month and New April Releases at Digital Delights!  This week it's "All About Music".... So, I am using "Conductor Colin" on my card this week. Isn't he the cutest conductor you have ever seen!!!
I started my card with a white card base and decided I was going to add some pink to "Conductor Colin" so I layered pink card stock in with my wonderful musical designer papers.  The image is colored with Copics and I used some "Stardust" Stickles for shine.  I cute the image and sentiments out with Spellbinders and used a Fiskars "Musical Note" punch along with a Memory Box Die for my embellishments.
On the inside I stayed with the same design and papers using yet another sentiment from the "Groove On Sentiments" at Digital Delights.  What fun these new images are so be sure to check them out...
