Santa Came

Today's card is a design by Mo Manning with Mo's Digital Pencil called "First Christmas Girl".  I used Copics to color her in a mixture of pinks and reds.  I used Spellbinder Dies to cut the image out and distressed the image with a light red ink.  I also used a Memory Box Die, cut in half to help with the embellishment.  I then added small pearls and some snowflakes with red gems in the middle.  All my papers are from my leftover Christmas stash.  Of course I also used some Ranger Stardust Stickles.

Hope you like her and thanks for stopping by my blog today.

My Hearts

"My Hearts Just For You" is a design by Sherri Baldy with Digi Stamps.  She is very precious and you can find Sherri's designs at Scrapbook Stamp Society (their button is on my sidebar).  Of course I used Copics to color her and the striped paper I could not resist using.  It is so soft and pretty, the picture really does not do it justice.  The rest of the embellishments were from my scrapbook stash.  I used Spellbinder Die-Cuts and the inside of my card stays with the same theme and a sentiment that simply says "All I Need is You" with more hearts.

Hope you are having a great day, I am off to do who knows what....

Hanging Valentines

Next couple of days we are gonna be swamped in Valentine Cards... My card today is of a wide-eyed beauty by Saturated Canary called "Valentine".  She is a cutie.  I colored her with Copics and used embellishments from  my old stash drawer.  Buttons, Bows, Pearls and Flowers.  The buttons I have had for years.  Hope you all have a nice week ahead and thanks for stopping by.

Flora

I have found a blog that I love participating in called WordArt Wednesdays.  You can check on my blog for their blog button and please go and check them out and become a follower.  Myself, I have God's light and touching hand in my life and I know the comfort and joy He gives me everyday.  Ladies at WordArt I am so glad you came into my life.  Each Wednesday they will provide you with a different sentiment to use as the base of your card and then it is up to you to do the rest.

This weeks sentiment was: "I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him" 1 Samuel 1:27  I new I wanted to have a softer look to my card so I used white and blue.  I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, "Drifting Endless" on a piece of white scrapbook paper, then used Memento "Summer Sky" Ink to distress over the embossing.  I love that look !  All my dies are from Spellbinders and the beautiful image is from Sugar Nellie, "Flora".  My flower embellishments are K&C Designs and there is just a touch of sparkle with the glitter and golden gems on the flowers.  On the inside I left it very simple just using a round scalloped circle die from Spellbinders and again distressing it with the Memento Color after embossing it.  I then place another group of flowers on the circle.  Fun card to watch it come together.

There are so many cards I could make with this verse, however, I will make a few scrapbooks pages for my son's scrapbooks now.  I hope you like the verse as much as I do, as well as my card.  Thanks for stopping by and please come again.

    Jack Frost

Not really sure where our winter weather has gone because it seems like springtime here in Alabama.  But Sassy Cheryl's new challenge is "Light Blue and Brown" this week and I had a cute snowman already colored up in those colors so here we go with a winter card...

I kinda went at this card backwards I guess.  I could not figure out how I wanted to design the card but I knew what papers I wanted to use.  So I just got out my Spellbinder Dies and started cutting.  I had these snowflakes that I wanted to use but worried about how they would look in a picture so I just took a chance.  So using Sassy Cheryl's "Flat Bottom Snowy" I threw together this card.  The papers and the embellishments  I have had forever and the sentiment is from Digi Doodles, just colored up a tad.

Glad you stopped by today and have a wonderful rest of the day.

    My Lonely Valentine

The first time I saw this sweet little design by Meljen's Designs I thought about a song by Bruce Springsteen aka "The Boss".  It was called "My Lonely Valentine" and I knew it would make a nice card.  Then I saw where a few challenge blogs were asking for cards inspired by using titles from songs.  Well, how could I resist...So thanks to "The Boss" and Meljen here is my card for today.

I colored the design with Copics and used Ranger Stickles in Stardust and Frosted Lace for the snow. The heart die-cut is Spellbinders.  I really blinged it up using the glittered flourishes, flower and heart gems I had in my stash.  They matched the cardstock paper I used and then I took the last lines from the song "My Lonely Valentine" and made my computer generated sentiment.  The words are: "So hold me close honey, Say you're forever mine, Tell me you'll always be, My lonely Valentine".  My last step was to distress the card slightly using Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in "Tea Dye".  Everything I used was from my old stash of products.

    Here Come The Girls

Here Come The Girls...I have no idea what these ladies are suppose to be doing, dancing I guess !  I saw this picture and knew I would have to use it one day on a card.  I love how the pink shows up so I used a darker pink in the same shade as my base for the card.  I distressed the edges of the picture as well as the edges of the sentiment, which is from "Sentiments 4 You".  I used the paisley paper as a background piece and a Spellbinder die to cut it out.  The sentiment is also cut out with a Spellbinder die.  The flowers are from Hobby Lobby that I had in my stash.  I kinda like the look of this card although I am still learning how to do vintage cards.

On to another card for tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you again.

    Thanks

How about a Thank You card today...This is one I made yesterday using the cutest design "Kisses" from Mo's Digital Pencils.  She is just sooo cute and I love red and white.  I used a scallop border punch from Martha Stewart at the bottom of my card, then I used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Drifting Endlessly" to emboss the card.  I wish you could see the embossing better but it is a pattern of roses.  I used red & white dotty ribbon for my bow and border above the scallop border.  The sentiment design is from Shelley's Images and I used Spellbinder Dies to cut the sentiment and frame it.  The background papers for "Kisses" are from my old stash and they are also cut with Spellbinder Dies.  I added white pearls for embellishment and then my card was complete.

Thanks for joining me today and please come again.  Comments are welcome...

    Joshua 1:9

This card is basically a nice sentiment card.  The verse is very encouraging therefore it would be a wonderful card for someone who is struggling in life or even with a problem in their life.  Basically a great encouragement card.  I just used white cardstock, added a black background using Spellbinder Dies and then the flower embellishments in black and white are from Hobby Lobby.  The flourish die is from Cherry Lynn Designs, "Fanciful Flourish" and I divided it into three pieces to add color to more than one place in the card.

You will have to forgive my photography if the card looks a little lopsided...

    Snowmen and Snowhouses

Changing things up today with a new Christmas card !  My snowman and little snowie's are surrounded by birdhouses and a birdie checking them all out.  I followed a sketch diagram by Pixie Cottage and used some old Christmas patterned paper I had.  The base cardstock is navy and really makes the image stand out.  I added small metal snowflakes painted white with white pearls in the middles and the sentiment is "Wishes for a winter wonderland" by Whimsey's.

Hope you enjoy today's card and please stop back by again.

    Valentine Nessa

Today's card is another Valentine and a cute one at that.  The image is from Mo Manning's Digital Pencils and is called "Shy Valentine Nessa".  Such a cutie !  My card is composed of pinks and reds, buttons and bows, some ribbon as a pretty heart border at the bottom of the card and a sentiment "Yesterday, Today, Forever".  The flowers in the upper corner are from K&C, they have pearls/gems in the middle and I used Rangers Stardust Stickle's on the heart and petticoat of Nessa's dress. The heart gems are from Joann's Fabrics and the buttons I added on the sentiment are from my sewing stash. So there is plenty of "Bling" on this card.

I hope you are having a great Monday, I took the weekend off and now it's hard to get going again.  Thanks for stopping by and please come again.

    Beary Be Mine

Hi everyone, time for another Valentine Card...And here's a Sassy Cheryl digi design that was such fun to color.  I tell ya, coloring her designs is more satisfying than cold ice tea on a hot Alabama day! This little sweet design is called "Bumbling Bear" and I turned him into a simple valentine.  I used another Cuttlebug Embossing Design from the "With Love" folder and placed some white pearls in the middle of the flowers on the design.  The design "Be Mine" is from Digi Doodles (love them also) and then I had 3 white pearl hearts from my stash and place one on the bow and the other two on the corners of the colored design which I used Copics to color.

Now I just have to wonder who I am sending all these Valentine Cards to, hmmm... Hope you enjoyed your visit today and please stop by again.

    Birthday Greetings

Today's card is a little different for me.  I have never crafted a Vintage card and I have this beautiful cardstock from a paper pack called "The Rustic Stack" by DCWV.  I embossed the card on the side with a Cuttlebug Border Folder called "With Love" and used some small pearls by Kaisercrafts to help with the embellishments, which I purchased from SCADC.  The flowers are Prima Flowers, "Sugar Blooms Sparkle Collection" that I just adore.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in "Tea Dye" to distress my image.  The other embellishments were from my own stash.

On the inside of my card I used some of the floral patterned paper, also from the "Rustic Stack" pack and Spellbinder Dies in a scalloped square to showcase the sentiment stamp "We do not remember days... we remember moments".  I am sorry I cannot remember where the stamp is from but I know I purchased it  from Joann's Fabric.

Vintage is difficult for me to know what is "too much" and what is "just enough", so if you have any tips or comments that would be of help please let me know.  I would love to hear all the comments you have.

    Be Mine

Don't you just love Valentines !  I do, for me they are so fun to make.  I can use my favorite colors and designs.  Today's card is just that, a Valentine fairy.  Well, actually the design is called "Fairy Summer" and is from The Greeting Farm.  She is very pretty colored as a Valentine though.  I used all new different shades of pink cardstock, the scallop design on the side of the card is a punch from Martha Stewart and she is colored with Copic's.  The heart circle die and the oval die are all from Spellbinders.  The "Be Mine" sentiment is from Digi Doodles and the flower embellishments are from my stash.  I hope you can see the small pearls in the flowers !  I used Ranger Stardust Stickles on the flowers and wings of the fairy and on the inside of the card is a heartfelt sentiment from Ginger House,  "It's amazing how one day someone walks into your life, then the next day you wonder how you ever lived without them."  All in all I just love this card.  Hope you do as well.

    Child's Play

Child's Play, how many of us recognize these little cutie's !  If you have ever had children you have to remember those "terrible two's".  Thus today's card has a combination of two designs from Mo Manning at Mo's Digital Pencils.  They are "Bossy" and "Two Toby" and I love them as I do with all of Mo's designs.  I paired them together and colored them with Copics.  The sentiment is from Whimsey's, one of their "Emma Swinging" sentiments.  I paired them with beige/black stripes and polka dots pattern paper and black embellishments.

Hope all of you have a wonderful day and all comments are welcomed.

The pattern paper is a mixture of old scraps and Memory Box paper, I colored the design with Copic Marker's and the snowflakes and gems are from Hobby Lobby.  The designs from Sassy Cheryl's are so much fun to color.

      Get Well

It's a rainy Alabama day here and getting colder. So many of my friends are sick with colds so I thought I would do a Get Well card. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder called "Friends" for the background and self-sticking ribbon that I have had for a long time for the borders on the sides, which came from SCADC.  The sentiment is from Paper Makeup and the design is from Pink Petticoat, colored with Copic's.

Hope this card will brighten your day if you are not feeling well... Thanks for stopping by today.

          New Beginnings

Today's card is very dear to my heart.  I have 2 son's who were in the military.  One who just recently returned from Afghanistan.  My husband and I both were in the military and I know so well that when a deployed soldier returns he is starting a "new beginning" in his life as also in the lives of his family.  As we all know the war in Iraq has ended for most of our soldiers who were stationed there, yet we still have more in that region.  So for them and all our military now serving overseas I dedicate my sentiment "New Beginnings When They All Come Home".

So today I have chosen a wonderful design by Sassy Cheryl called "Patriot Remembered".  I used Copics to color the design and the flourish is a die from Memory Box called Elegant Scrollwork.  The sentiment is one I just used the computer to create and the rest is just from my "stash".

I hope you enjoy my card and remember to keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers.  Have a nice day and hurry back to see what I have for tomorrow.
