"Thinking of You"

Hi there "sassy" girls....I almost did not get my card posted for the Sassy Cheryl Challenge this week...Whew!!! You see, I turned my laptop on last Thursday and it would not do anything. Could not get the mouse to move at all.  So I told my boys something has happened to my computer and I will have to drag out that big PC and get it all hooked up. But it was not working that great either...So today my youngest, Kyle, came over to take me to lunch and I asked that he check the laptop out. He started laughing and to make a long story short, he found that somehow I had locked the mouse button so the mouse would not move.  Goodness.....they are going to put in a "home" if I keep on!!!!lol
So now let me tell you about my card. The Challenge is "For a Guy/Boy".  I love boy cards since you all know I have 2 sons.  Plus, I always love when I get to use the primary colors, red, blue, and yellow. I colored my image with Copics and added lots of layers. I am not sure where I got the sentiment from, so sorry...I added lots of brads, buttons and stars. Those little flourish thingies at the corners were from a punch that I have had forever.  As you can tell from the picture above, I added some stickles to the flower for extra shine...
As usual, I always like to finish the inside of my cards.  I used the same designer papers as well as more of the brad stars and larger stars.
I am entering my card in the following Challenges:

I am glad you had time to stop by today and hope you will join me again this week. To all my new followers I would like to say a big hello. And make sure you get your "Boy" cards in over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenges. Of course you only have tomorrow so hurry, hurry, hurry...Have a great week everyone...

"Searching"

Hi everyone....Today I am showing you a very simple card I made using a "Freebie" from "Whimsy and Stars" called "Searching". They have a new blog and the challenge was to use and request the "freebie". Isn't she a doll....I have always loved these designs and decided to take the plunge.

However, when I did my laptop computer died on me or got a virus or something.  So I am having to use my old PC which I think was made back in the caveman days.....lol  So if something seems a little off let's just blame it on this old thing.

Of course, I used my Cameo to cut the image out, but no more using that until my laptop gets out of the shop.  The silly sentiment is something I just made up and is computer generated. I added my favorite corner dies and some pearls. Then, yep, that's right I got my pink material out and tore me up another bow.
Like I said very easy peasy....

I was not able to add my watermark to my card since someone forgot to backup all their files and images...UGH....
I am entering my card or rather I am going to try to enter it in the following challenges:
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday and will enjoy their Father's Day.  Mine father has passed away so I will be enjoying it with my sons.   So long for now....

won the DT Card of the Week with Digital Delights.....Now for this
weeks card....
It's Delightful Thursday at Digital Delights.....

So today I am showcasing another New Release for June called "Ice Cream Roxy".  My "mojo" kinda left me with this card.  But I did get through it and I guess I can say the image turned out cute....lol I used my Copics to color Roxy.  I then fancy cut it with my Cameo. The sentiment is from the "Summer of Smiles" Sentiment Set which is also a New Release this month.
I did use some die-cuts with this card and the Umbrella is from Memory Box.  The ice cream cone and sun are both from Birds Cards. I also used some faux stitching and added corner dies from Whimsey Stamps. I also added some tan pearls from my stash.
The inside is very simple and I stuck with the same designer papers as on the front of my card which are from Stampin Up and were a gift from my OBB friend Candy.  You can check out Candy's Blog here!

"Life is Short"

Back again with a special card I made for a friend of mine.  Do you ever see a sentiment or poem and you automatically think of that certain person who it would be perfect for.....That's how I felt when I saw this wonderful sentiment from Ginger House....

I started with a scalloped white card base and used a "Daisy Ribbon Mat" from Bird's Cards which I cut using my Cameo.  I used a light pink card stock for the background and ran pink ribbon through the mat. I then made a bow with some sheer pink ribbon. I am not happy with the bow but this was the only pink ribbon I had at the time. I added a white/gold antique button in the middle of the bow. I did finished the inside but did not take a pic of it since I had already included some personal words.

I am entering my card in the following Challenges:
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my card today. Your comments are always welcomed. Hope everyone has a great weekend..

"Just Hanging Around"

BECAUSE "SASSY CHERYL" IS HAVING
A DT CALL......

DO YOU FEEL SASSY ENOUGH TO JOIN - IF SO
BE SURE TO ENTER YOUR "SASSY" CREATIONS
IN THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE AS WELL AS NEXT
WEEKS!!!!
Now the challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's this week is "Perfectly Pinkalicious" and very easy - just create a pink card using a Sassy Cheryl Image!  So I chose to use a very cute image called "Just Hanging Around" with Sassy Sally and Bella.  Bella kinda looks somewhat bewildered...
I think I know now why I love these Sassy Cheryl images so much.  They all take me back to everyday life when I was just a "wee" little thing. I grew up on a farm in Virginia and Alabama and the only playmates were my 2 brothers, one older and one younger until my sister came along when I was 14.  This was me back then except I had long pigtails and would climb any tree I could.  Well, enough about the good ole' days....

For my card I decided to venture out and learn a little more about the Cameo! This time I got my cutting mat stuck on both elbows...oh me...I cut this wonderful mat from designer paper and better yet the pattern was a "freebie" from Birds Cards!  I love that Cameo but I really love all my die-cuts so I am not sure how much I will actually use the machine.  My butterflies for example are from a Memory Box Die.  The bow is some pink fabric I had and I tore it to give it more of a southern charm...lol  I placed white opal like stones around the image on the lovely mat for added texture.
The inside picture did not turn out too well. I must try harder next time. The sentiment is printed in pink and says "You are amazing girl" and is a "freebie" from "Desert Diva".

I am entering my card in the following Challenges:
I sure hope all of you will join in the fun at Sassy Cheryls Challenge as they always love to see what everyone creates with their images.  I do also....And don't forget about the DT Call...I will be throwing my name in the pot so come on out and join me...Maybe we will all get lucky....lol  Hope everyone is planning a lovely weekend and as always I look forward to reading your comments....

"Say Cheese"

It's Delightful Thursday again at Digital Delights!

Time for another challenge over at Digital Delights and the new releases for June are out now!  I am showing you "Say Cheese Polly" and I am also including "Say Cheese Paul" along with her. Both of them got new cameras and they have been snapping pictures of themselves....lol.
My card is colored with Copics and started with a white card base. I used black card stock to mat my images and make the photo tabs along with the corner dies.  I added a black bow, some pearls and my card was finished.
On the inside I stayed with the same format adding a personal message area and some Memory Box Dies.
The sentiments "Say Cheese" on the front and "A Day to Remember" are both part of the "Summer Smiles Sentiment Set" from Digital Delights.
I am entering my card in the following Challenges:

"Max Flying High"

Hi my "sassy" friends....The Challenge this week over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog is Step-Cards.....Well, let me tell you - I have never made a step-card and after this one not sure I will ever make another one...lol

You see, my son's pooled their money together and gave me a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas last year. Actually they gave it to me in November and I decided since we were going to be moving I would hold it until we got moved to learn to use it.  Well you all know the tragedies that struck my family in January so I just have not had the heart to open it up or even try to learn it. When I did get the nerve to take it out of the box - I got sick and had to go into the hospital. So here it sat staring at me and me staring at it.

When this challenge came up a good friend of mine, Kim, said oh good you can do it on the Cameo...Now, she is a wiz with her Cameo, but what she didn't realize was that I am old....OLD...But we start in going step by step, until about the 3rd hour into it and I asked where the "ENTER" button was....hahaha...Then she sat on her Cameo Mat and it stuck to her you know what and I got mine stuck to my elbow...oh me!!!!

But we made it thru and I owe you my friend.  I also have to thank another great friend of mine so Candy thank you so much for all the support you have showed to me in learning the Cameo and then putting up with Kim....lol  No really, Kim was a doll to help me with my Card and I thank her very much...Just don't ask me any questions about the Cameo...
So my card base and designer papers along with my image which is called, "Max Flying High" were all cut with the Cameo. My flowers, grass and if you look you will see Sassy Cheryl's "Belle" in the background were all computer generated and fancy cut and colored with Copics by me...I still love my dies so I used my Memory Box "Puffy Clouds" Die and the sentiment is from TLC.

I am entering my card in the following Challenges:
Sooo, that's it for me....I hope you like my first try with the Cameo and making a Step Card...As soon as I have another class I am sure I will use the Cameo again....hmmm!!! Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to get your wonderful Step Cards in over at Sassy Cheryl's....
